Internships
  • Reevis Mountain School welcomes a special few people to come work on the farm in exchange for food and lodging, for whatever period of time is enriching for both you and Reevis. Interns don't gain money here, but they gain a lot of knowledge, health and experience. Plan on staying at least three months.

  • What we provide you – aside from the opportunity to be here - is private lodging (with bed, heat source, space for your personal things, but no electricity or interior water), nutritious omnivorous organic meals, hot showers, and on-the-job training related to whatever work is going on while you are here.

  • We have gardening work year round, construction projects underway (stone masonry and conventional wood-frame building), and all sorts of projects and tasks that come up on a working homestead. This is a wonderful place to learn new skills.

  • The work exchange involves working every day (the garden and the chickens don't take days off, so neither do we), participating in community breakfast and supper, and helping in whatever tasks are needed. Days off can be arranged, but in general interns need to be focused on the homestead activities. Please note that we cannot accommodate pets (no exceptions).

  • Communication: There is no landline or cell service to this remote homestead. We do have satellite based internet service which is primarily for official use by Reevis office staff. Interns are able to share our internet service on a limited basis, at appropriate times. Much personal correspondence is conducted via the United States Postal Service – someone does a mail run typically once or twice per week.

  • We often have spots open for new internships. We require a $50 deposit from accepted applicants to hold a spot. Our rugged road requires a 4WD.  We may be able to assist with local transportation from Phoenix or Globe.

  • Please inquire about availability, and then send your application. The first few pages of the application are informational and will tell you a lot more about what it's like to live and work here.  We give applications careful consideration, discussion, and meditation to decide if we think it would be a mutually enjoyable and enriching experience. Please submit an application when you are committed to coming to Reevis.
