Bigfoot's Herbal Tinctures
Herbs are sustainably wildcrafted or grown in our own organic garden, harvested and processed by hand, and extracted into alcohol-based tinctures by Peter Bigfoot himself, in small batches. Tinctures will last two years, or more, probably losing potency gradually but maintaining their strength better if kept in a cool, dark place. However, we have found that tinctures have still been effective after storage in a glove compartment through an Arizona summer.

Currently out of stock due to Desert Tobacco scarcity this season. We suggest Brown Recluse Remedy or Scorpion Sting Remedy as a substitute. I use this to relieve the pain and bring about faster healing of bee, ant, wasp, and spider stings. For external use only. Herbal ingredients: Desert tobacco, western mugwort, desert plantain, eucalyptus. (1 fl. oz. or 2 fl. oz.)
I use this as a topical antiseptic to fight rashes produced by fungal invasion (“athlete’s foot”) and to fight bacterial infections, especially deep infections, such as puncture wounds. For external use only. Herbal ingredients: Desert willow leaf, eucalyptus leaf, chaparral, osha, colloidal silver. (1 fl. oz.)
The one that started it all ... I use this as my all purpose, “nip it in the bud” remedy to empower the immune system in such ailments as flu, fever, sore throat, viruses, herpes, swollen glands, colds, lower back pain, some headaches, internal infections, etc., and as a strengthening tonic. The herbs in this formula have been used for centuries and are known to be highly antibacterial. I use this remedy both internally and externally. Use full strength topically for cold sores. Herbal ingredients: Chaparral, yerba santa, osha root. (2 fl. oz.)
I use this tincture to strengthen the pancreas and normalize blood sugar levels. A prudent, therapeutic diet is also suggested. Herbal ingredients: Juniper berries, dandelion root, licorice root. (2 fl. oz.)
I use Brown Recluse Remedy to heal most spider bites, including those of the dreaded Brown Recluse. We have many of these spiders here at Reevis Mountain School and do not fear these bites, with this remedy available. This tincture is an effective and perhaps more convenient alternative to our Spider Bite remedy. Herbal ingredients: Walnut tree bark, chaparral leaf. (2 fl. oz.)
I use Celebration Remedy to empower the digestive system, soothe upset stomach, relieve gas, freshen the breath, and relieve sulfurous, sour, and acidic stomachs. No plop, no fizz, just plain herbal relief! Herbal ingredients: Red raspberry leaf, peppermint, cherry bark, coriander seed, ginger root. (2 fl. oz.)
I use Chaparral as a strengthening tonic with antiseptic, antibacterial, and antiviral qualities. I have obtained excellent results in remedying flu, staph infections, fevers, swollen glands, viruses (including herpes), and afflictions such as cold sores, shingles, and chicken pox. Not recommended in cases of liver or kidney disorders. When brewing tea from dried chaparral herb isn’t convenient, dilute a few drops of this tincture in water. Herbal ingredient: Chaparral (Larrea divaricata). (2 fl. oz.)
I use this to remedy coughing, and also for colds, fevers, lung congestion, sore throats, to improve digestion, and as a tasty beverage! Herbal ingredients: Cherry bark, yerba santa, catnip, ginger root, sassafras. (2 fl. oz.)
I use this as a remedy to relieve a variety of muscle cramps, especially those associated with the female menstrual cycle. Herbal ingredients: Bursage. (2 fl. oz.)
Echinacea (Snake Bite) Tincture
Of all the natural snakebite remedies I know of, this is the most versatile, the easiest to store, carry, and use, with good, effective results. The indigenous people of Arkansas, where the plant grows wild, have handed down its use for snakebites for generations. Apply as a saturated bandage, while drinking the tincture diluted. I have very successfully treated bitten pets in this way too. Herbal ingredient: Echinacea root. (2 fl. oz.)
Hormonal balancing remedy historically used by women who suffer PMS or perimenopausal symptoms such as anxiety, mood swings, irritability, or hormonal imbalances. Some people notice positive effects right away; for others it might take a while longer. This product should not be used with any other hormonal therapies, including birth control pills. Herbal ingredients: Vitex tree seeds, reputed to help women through issues with menopause. (2 fl. oz.)
This tincture contains my companion herbs of choice when I am traveling to exotic and south-of-the-border locales or when relying on backcountry water during backpacking trips. I use it to combat the foreign/pathogenic bacteria (giardia) and microparasites that can set off intestinal disturbances such as dysentery, diarrhea, and cramping. Herbal ingredients: Holocantha, algerita root. Also contains colloidal silver. (2 fl. oz.)
I use this remedy, which assists the function of the spleen, to purify the blood, calm the nerves, and strengthen an overstressed and jittery immune system. I have found it to be a good remedy for herpes. For optimal results, go to bed early, and eat a balanced, whole foods diet. Herbal ingredients: Red root, yellow dock, echinacea, red clover, desert mallow, desert willow. (2 fl. oz.)
The combination of the herbs in this formula is known to purify the digestive tract of worms and parasites, as well as to relieve gaseous, infected, or feverish conditions of the stomach, intestines, and bowels. I use it when treating sore throats, colds, and flu-like symptoms. Herbal ingredients: Hyssop, blue vervain, horehound. (2 fl. oz.)
This is my primary remedy for premenstrual syndrome, which I believe to be the result of an exhausted, congested, and toxic liver. I also use it (for men and women) to relieve irritability and anger, mental confusion, hangovers, liver pains and infections, fevers, hives, and inflamed, dry or scaly skin, and as a bitter tonic to improve digestion and relieve nighttime “chatterbrain” restlessness. Herbal ingredients: Algerita root. (1 fl. oz. or 2 fl. oz.)
I use this tonic to aid and strengthen weak or infected kidneys. Some indications include timidness, aversion to cold, excessive fear, lower back pain, weak urinary stream, kidney diseases in general. Herbal ingredients: Mallow root, uva ursi, dandelion root, ashwagandha root, cleavers, astragalus root. (2 fl. oz.)
I use this for liver ailments (including hepatitis), blood diseases, systemic infections, and painful liver, and as a blood builder, strengthening tonic, and healthful beverage. Herbal ingredients: Yellow dock, burdock, dandelion, cascara sagrada, algerita root, gentian root, cleavers, milk thistle. (2 fl. oz.)
I use this tincture to improve sore, achy conditions of the lungs, lung infections of all sorts, and lung congestion. Herbal ingredients: Cliff break fern, yerba santa, malva root, cherry bark, deer vetch. (2 fl. oz.)
I use this remedy for pollen-induced allergies and related lung and sinus congestions. Cases of animal fur allergies and hives have also responded on occasion. Herbal ingredients: Brittle bush, plantain, squaw tea, yerba santa, chaparral. (2 fl. oz. or 8 fl. oz.)
I use this for fast and lasting relief of lung spasms (asthma attacks) and clogged sinuses. I find that for most people it dries and opens the breathing passages within a matter of minutes. This is also my favorite remedy for spider bites, and the only remedy I have ever found that works for caterpillar fuzz stings (applied topically). Herbal ingredients: Walnut tree bark, chaparral leaf. (2 fl. oz.)
After 31 scorpion stings (and counting…) in various parts of my body during many years of wilderness living, I have found this remedy to most effectively reduce the pain of and speed the recovery from the sting of scorpions, including those of the deadly Centruroides sculpuratus, common in Arizona. Herbal ingredients: Western mugwort. (2 fl. oz.)
I use this as my primary remedy for bladder infections, urethra and penis infections, venereal disease, canker sores of the mouth (not lips), and sore throats. Seems to work best where internal mucus membrane tissue is affected. Herbal ingredients: Red sumac berries and bark, uva ursi, colloidal silver. (2 fl. oz.)
I use this as an effective remedy for the “common cold” ... sore throat, fever, sneezing, runny nose, congested lungs, etc., etc. I also use it for other ailments with cold or flu-like symptoms. Herbal ingredients: Wildcrafted yarrow, osha, yerba santa, horehound, stevia, colloidal silver. (2 fl. oz.)
The herbal ingredients of this formula - yellow dock root, ginkgo leaf, and white Korean ginseng - have been employed for centuries to restore and renew the body. (8 fl. oz.)
